- What is Ignite?
It is a program that connects people to Jesus, shares the vision of the church, expands our ability to reach others, and utilizes a capital campaign to provide financial resources to meet those goals.
- What is the amount needed?
$10.5 million. To date, we've borrowed $10.3 million.
- How will the funds raised be spent?
The money will be used to retire our current debt of $10.3 million, obtained to finance the building of our Phase 2 expansion, which was completed in the fall of 2009. Funds have also been disbursed to allow for the startup of our first satellite campus in Statesville. Ignite funding will also be used for our second satellite expansion in late 2010 or early 2011.
- What changes have we seen since Ignite began?
Since the completion of Phase 2 at the Mooresville Campus, we’ve seen growth at our weekend services as well as during weekday events. Average weekend attendance at the Mooresville Campus is now at 3,647. During the week, the building is used for a growing Student Ministry program, mid-week Cove Kids programs, support groups and marriage classes. Our expanded space has also allowed us to provide space for community organizations to meet and to host weddings and funerals. The Statesville satellite campus launched in November of 2008, and now has an average weekend attendance of 438. The Statesville campus also is home to Cove Kids and Student Ministry programs.
- What did Phase 2 include?
The Mooresville Campus Phase 2 building plans included expanding the main auditorium to have a total seating capacity of 1,500 seats, adding two multipurpose rooms that support the Children's Ministry, Student Ministry and Support Group Ministries (CR, GS, DC, DC4K), adding an area for a future bookstore and coffee shop, and increasing the office space.
